Crisis Search Engine and 9/11 Portal!

Press Release

Inspired by the devastation caused by the Katrina hurricane (donate) and the 4th anniversary of September 11th terrorist attacks...

This free (nonprofit) web emergency portal is a centralized database (searchable portal) for Katrina disaster relief sites and other World crisis's! For victims who can get to a computer, assistance is everywhere, on hundreds of websites. But (until now), there has not been one main starting point to organize all these links.

We can see that a crisis related niche portal is needed on the web these days as the world is constantly being devastated by either war (nuclear bombs, viral warfare, homelessness), terrorist attack suicide bombings (terrorism threats), poverty/famine or natural disasters (weather, disease outbreaks, tornados, hurricanes, forest fire, meteorite impact, earthquakes, volcano eruptions, tsunamis, flooding, etc)...

Please submit crisis sites (forums, disaster plans, missing people, volunteer positions, relief programmes, recovery ideas, etc) to help the victims of diaster (currently hurricane RITA is in the news and victims of Katrina need housing/shelter from Louisiana, New Orleans and Mississippi areas). We already have over 1,000 (over 250 links to Katrina sites alone) crisis webpages cached!

*NEW SITE* CrisisSearch.com (domain info) Started Sept. 13th, 2005 (made by a caring New Yorker)

Please add (Add URL) related crisis blogs and websites to the database, already 1,000 websites spidered for meta data (fetched meta tags for description, title and keywords, plus we then grab the text from page and cache it for further searchable data)...

Please link to us to help spread the word.

Online disaster blogging by web bloggers joining forces, suggesting ideas to better crisis intervention in the future. Feel free to post a blog, start a new topic/thread or reply to someone elses postings/bloggette.

Blogs/forums are now active (created so people can find more personalized one-on-one advice/help) for people to post missing friends, family, pets or post about volunteering or possible strategies for Emergency Planning for current crisis's or Clean-Up plans for past disasters.
